We all know that DXL sells a wide variety of clothing, but you might not be aware of the well known, high-end brands you can find in-store and online. Today, we’re taking a look at some of the coolest brands you’ll find in your size from Destination XL’s inventory.
Polo Ralph Lauren
You’d be hard-pressed to find a more iconic brand than Polo Ralph Lauren. From shoes and shirts, to pants and (you guessed it) polos, the company creates a wide variety of clothing that can be worn for just about any occasion you can think of.
Recommended – Madras Plaid Sport Shirt is a great choice now that the weather is warming up. Add a pair of chinos for a business casual look, or try the Hudson Classic Flat Front Shorts for a weekend lunch with friends.
When you see a shirt with that distinctive crocodile logo, there’s no mistaking that it’s a Lacoste. While the company was long known for their tennis shirts, today they make button downs, tees, pants, outerwear, and shoes. You’ll find pant sizes to 50 and shirts to 4XLT.
Recommended – You can’t go wrong with a Lacoste Classic Piqué Polo – it’s a best seller for a reason. Though the polo works well with just about anything, pair it with the Flat Front Gabardine Cotton Chinos, and you’ve got the perfect, slightly preppy look.
If you think it’s impossible to find premium denim in extended sizes, think again. Destination XL offers True Religion jeans with sizes to 52. Choose from 7 different washes, ranging from Coyote Lakes (a light wash) to Superfly Black. If you’re a fan of high-end denim with a modern design and distinctive styling, take a look at True Religion.
Recommended – I’m a fan of True Religion’s Ricky Straight Jean in the Mississippi Breeze wash. It’s versatile, yet dark enough for my liking. If you’re looking for a pair of jeans you can wear with anything, consider these.
Sometimes you just need to class it up a little. Brooks Brothers helps you do just that. Since 1818, they’ve been creating high quality (now) classic apparel for gents of all sizes. If you’ve ever wanted to experiment with a dandy-style look, browse this selection of pants, shirts, ties, and suspenders.
Recommended – If you want to try something different, pick up the Red Gingham Ivy Cap, some Y-Back Suspenders, and a dark blue dress shirt to get you closer to that dandy sort of look I was talking about above.
I’ll freely admit I’m biased when it comes to Allen Edmonds; I wore a pair of their McTavish Wingtips on my wedding day, and they’re some of the best shoes I’ve ever owned. At DXL, you’ll find oxfords, loafers, drivers and more with wide sizes available to size 16. These are shoes that you’re meant to keep for years, so think of them as an investment. A very good one, at that.
Recommended – Like I said above, the McTavish Wingtips are some of my favorite shoes of all-time. Though I’m partial to the Black Wax version, I don’t think you could go wrong with the Cognac, either. You’ll find both available to size 15, or 14W, if you need it.
Now you’ve gotten a taste of what Destination XL has to offer when it comes to high quality, well-known brands. Is that it? Not by a long shot! You’ll also find brands such as Timberland, Sebago, Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY Jeans, and Kenneth Cole on the website and in your local store. Take a look at the brands for yourself on the Destination XL Brands Page.
